What is your impression of our human brains?

For being such a vital organ, needed for survival, it is extremely vulnerable. The brain is also very intricate and detailed.

How do you reconcile our own brain's physical fragility verses the phenomenal computational and analytical capabilities we possess?

It's crazy how something so fragile and vulnerable as our brain can do so much. From thinking, feeling, remembering things, and even sometimes question life itself. It feels like an organ should not be able to contribute to all of these things, yet the brain does.

It helps me reconcile how fragile the brain is with all the jobs it performs, to know that the brain is heavily protected with layers and bones.

What new appreciation do you have on the nervous system's role in the body?

I never paid any mind to it before, not realizing how big of an impact the nervous system had in our day to day lives. Now that I have been made aware of the nervous system and all of its functions, I am honestly amazed by our bodies. The nervous system is extremely important for everything we do. It controls breathing, moving, and feelings things. Without it, we wouldn't be able to think, talk, or even react to the world around us. The nervous system serves as the body's control center that keeps everything working together.
